You do have your moments, don't you!

Great stuff i can use, okey,my fry is healty, might be a bit of amonia, did a water cahnge, and 2 days later they are looking good.. I had a decoration i also removed with the water change,i noticed that the colour changed to a type of yellow,so i dont know if that decoration might of had something to do with that,,but theyr gr8 now :hey:
im moving my adults to a 120L sunday so my fry can have a bigger tank for themselve, cuz theyr about 50 little ones in about 20L part i made so the adults cannot get to that side, heard that if the size is to small they might grow slower.. Some started geting size and they started getting some black colour aswell... So finaly things are gowing well..

I also use a cup,i first used a small net but was scared that they might get hurt.. Cant wait to see what colours they get.
And about the corrys,i had my eyes on them, they are peacefull and dont bother the fry..
Do u guys know the bostia striata,i have 2,1 i never see,and the other one ,well if i feed the guppies,he shoots to the top and eats with the guppies...
Sorry for changing the topics over again :S

Yea I really do have my “moments”!

I recently won a trophy for being the clumsiest person alive (currently have a twisted ankle, black eye and 3 plasters on fingers)

My frys tails have started to colour, one is red another yellow. They were bred from a red tailed with black spots female. Father was either a yellow and orange lyretail, blue and pinky split tail, or bright orange rounded tail(can't remember name)

Hope it's the lyretail as daddy, I love them!

Did your fry colour first looked black? Cuz some of mine are getting a bit black, dont have any black gups incase it was a female that was pregnant by another male from the petstore.

Oh and i also like the lyre tail, didnt know that was their name, know i know, the one in my prof pic,hes pretty, and active with the females

Black is the first color to show up, then they'll start getting other colors after that.

With mine it was a couple weeks after the black, and the first color was yellow. Might all be different with yours.

 Okey, mine is growing fast now, dont know if its because of the bigger area, atleast they are doing better then the adults i moved to the 120L tank

I was amazed at the speed that they grow when given a bigger area and some nice plants to play in. i give mine frozen cyclops a few times a week, they love it and seems to be really good for them!

Althuough i noticed one of my fry has a bent back. it has had it from birth coz it's really easy to spot him from the others. he/she is swimming and eating fine, playing in the filter jet etc etc and seems as happy as the rest of them!

what's up with your adults?

I keep nine Botia striata in a three foot with a 18 silvertips, and they do come out and feed from the top with the tetras. Yours could do with company; they are a shoaling fish and should be kept in a group of 6+ to feel happy and secure :good:

i read somewhere that guppy fry are all born female, and that the PH or temperature or something determines how many males you get. is that true? all my fry are in the same tank, so exposed to same PH, will they all be female? Or if i fiddle with the PH will i get more males? not that i want more males, prefer them to be in a 1 male-2 female ratio. x mine all have black tails like their mummy. out of the possible daddies none of them have any black colouring? when is the sex determined?

thanx guys

id like to know that as well. Well about the botia, then ill just have to get some more, they are pretty awsome.. About my adult gupps,i just went home to find one of the 2 in the hospital tank dead.. where it begun, i moved all my adults to a 120l tank,3 days later i noticed one hiding, and breading very fast... Shes the one that has died, think it could have been dropsy, not sure, but some scales on her tummy looked a bit swollen, ill upload a photo of her tonight. The other sick one ,well i noticed a difrent colour on her side when i had bought her,but when i moved her to the 120l tank,i noticed that colour was a hole, shes looking good, but the hole aint closing.. The rest looks very good in teh new tank, with old cycled filter and old gravel

4 weeks old and they moved out. Was a sad day but you gotta let go sometime!

10 of the juvenile guppies moved to a friends tank a few days ago! They are bigger than endlers now most of them.

So chuffed I managed to raise them to this size :D
