Just picked up this guy a couple of days ago. I can not believe how tame it is already. It swims up if you come to the tank and if you put your hand in the tank it swims and sits in your hand funny little guy.

Nice, whats he feeding on at the moment? Small dogs id imagine.

Woah that mouth looks big enough to take in some very big prey! (In relation to its own size)

Looks nice :good:

Nice pick up! How big is the tank? I've wanted one of these for the longest time. Just don't have anywhere to put one.

Freaking awsome fish that.
I love Auchenipterids, ive been meaning to get a Jaguar cat for ages but never seen one locally.
Any idea how these guys are with other fish?

since reading this post I researched them a little out of my own interest and it is stated that any fish under 2 x the size of the gulper is fair game for food.... even at 2 x the size, there may still be a chance of predation.... :hyper:

Oh yeah these things can and will eat anything they can get hold of. Its in a tank on its own I was thinking of trying larger dats with it but when the gulper is fully grown at 12" could be a problem so may keep it in a species only. I know of a person whos 5" gulper ate a 11" black aro lol. Here look at this to see what there capable of.
