Guess what my Blue German Rams did today?

They made babies. I seen the male floating above a piece of drift wood and thought that was wierd. I just cleaned my tank out from top to bottom and guess they found a spot that they like. How long does it take for them to hatch? you can see the dad just above the eggs guarding them. I'm so pumped i cant even get swordtails to breed.

They take 2-3 days to hatch and then another 4-5 days to become free swimming.

Its so exciting isn't it?

Be warned though, they they may eat the eggs the first couple of times until they get things right.

sadly ya it is exciting. and the tank mates are 2 dwarf guramis, 2 zebra danios.ya iv also heard that it may take them a few times before they get it right. oh well its cool to see him fanning and defending his terittory.

If you really want babies rewmove the tank mates, as thats the main reason they get eaten, It'd be a waste of energy to raise them to be eaten by other fish

It is really worth having dwarf cichlid babies! The so cute
