Grrr... @ tank stand

Finally got my new flat. w00t! and I can now nick my mums 2 foot fish tank. so popping alonf to my lfs I pick up a an Eheim rekord stand to put it on. The stand is designed for a 24x12 tank but silly me didn;t remember that this particular tank I have had a self suporting base (so there is no need for extra styrophome underthe base) I was wondering if it would be ok to have a slight over hang (a couple of mil all round) or whether it would be ok to remove the plastic suport from the bottom of the tank?

any feedback would be welcome

hmmm...

I know on ours the plastic frame has supports that go under the tank too so it would 'probubly' be ok to be sat on these.

I would pop to argos and get a TV unit our 35 is on one with no problems at all.
