hey i have two pots of hc in my tank (pots removed) and theres bits floating off! how do i get it to stay where it is before it disapears?? will a hairnet work?

Plant individual strands like you would with Glosso, use a tweezers and plant it in the substrate. alternatively if it comes potted in the wool type material, plant individual plugs of it, in other words cut each potted HC plant into about 8 different pieces and use these plugs with some wool attached and plant them in the substrate, this is the lazy way to plant it but it does work, the wool will act an an anchor, although doing it in individual strands is better, it will carpet quicker, although its hard work planting it this way and could take a few hours. If fish dig some up just keep replanting, there is no easy way other than the plug way i have described, just keep replanting and eventually the roots will take hold. What are you planting it in? this can make a difference as the individual plantlets are very small.

Silverlady, HC=Hemianthus callithoides, very small foreground plant used for carpeting a tank usually.

well i tried planting it on its own and it simply floated up as i use sand - the hc is in wool anchored but its still finding its way out! :S

HC can be a sod to work with. I do what Zig suggests then just remove and/or replant anything that floats off. As long as some stays in the substrate will carpet given time.
