WHat are the growth rates on texas cichlids and jack dempseys?

I'd say it depends on how big the tank is. When I had an assorted new world cichlid set up in my 80 gallon (including texas cichs and jack dempseys) they reached full size after one and a half to two years with my texas cichlids growing at a slightly faster rate, though this could very fish to fish based on how much more food theyre getting, rank in the pecking order, etc.

i think it depends more on tank temp, food, water quality and individual fish

our oscar grew half an inch in two weeks. he was about 2 inches when we got him

we've had him almost a month now and he probably grew 3/4 of an inch and he gets fed staple cichlid food and frozen bloodworm/brine shrimp/tybifex worms

when they're small, those fish will usually grow faster then when bigger. Probably 1 inch a month for the first few months then slowly until they reach full size
