Im wondering how fast my fish are going to grow and to what size since Im told I may be overstocked

The fish I have in my 23g tank are:
2 angels ~5cm long each (i think theyre a little bigger than whn i got them a month ago)
1 blue gourami ~8cm long
4 yoyo loaches ~5cm long each
2 golden barbs ~4cm each
5 rosy barbs all under 2cm (which i have noticed noticable growth in the month that id had them)

Im wondering how fast these fish are going to grow and what sizes i can expect them to reach

thanks in advance

Angels 5" long but 8"+ in height. This is why they need an 18" high tank. Most people quote about 10 gallons per Angel but you can get away with a little less than that.
Blue gourami about 4"
yo yo loaches about 3"
Golden Barbs 2"
Rosy Barbs 2"

All in all you have about 45" of fish which is hugely overstocked I'm afraid. In terms of growth rate. You are looking at about 2 years or there abouts to reach maturity with most of those fish. So unfortunately your tank is only going to deteriorate as it matures unless you rehouse some of those fish. I would lose the angels personally as I can't believe your tank is 18" high. Then you are about fully stocked with what's remaining.

:good:

i have a friend with a 18'' high 60g tank who said he will take the angels and the rosy barbs when they get too big so no problems there :)

thanks for the info

Good if you have an alternative home for rosy barbs, as some of them can actually get quite a bit bigger than 2 inches; I've certainly seen 4 inch, if not 5 inch, specimens. The only problem I see is that they tend to prefer subtropical temperatures (18-22C) whereas angels like it quite warm (25C or more).
