hi im wondering if anyone can give me advice, I have just bought a severum he is about 2inches,I noticed yesterday he has a growth on the top of his left eyelid.I have had him for 10 days and I didnt notice it when i first purchased it.It doesnt look like his eye is popped at all.would appreciate any advice on what i should do thankyou

What colour is the growth, is it hard or like filled with fluid.
Does it resemble a cauliflower of a cluster of berries.
Can you describe it in more detail.
Is it possible to load a pic up of the sick fish.

hi,the growth is grey in colour, its looks hard to me and like a little cluster.it sits on the top of his eyelid and pushing behind the eye.

Do you mean a cluster of berries.

I don't think fish have eyelids. When I bought 5 severum 3 of them developed a greyish coating on one eye. I used Maracyn and it went away in a couple weeks. I'm not sure if the meds fixed it or it went away by itself. I have read that fish will sometimes damage an eye on a container such as a plastic bucket and it will cause a greyish coating but will soon heal itself. Don T.

Not really a clusterof berries more like a wart,it has got a little bigger today althought the fish seems ok and is eating ok.
I have started a course of myxazin but was thinking maybe I need to try maracyn??how does popeye start?

Popeye is a build up of fluids in the eye and it bulges out.
Warts can be related to viral infections.
I would try and get anti internal bacteria med by interpet, but if the growth does turn out to be viral the med won't do anything.
Maracyn is a united states med but I think you can buy it online.
Good luck.
