Hi,
I am new to the hobby. I am planning to carpet my tank using dwarf hair grass. I have an aqueon standard glass aquarium tank - 29 gallon. The led is low profile LED full hood. I have a filter that came with the kit. Please help me by suggesting
1. if i need to buy new led hood to grow the carpet? If so, which one or what wattage?
2. Do i need to buy CO2 for the carpet.
3. what substrate should i use?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Don't waste your money on hair grass because it is not a true aquatic plant and doesn't do well when kept underwater. Look for Pygmy Chain Swords or use Hygrophila polysperma and weight it down and prune it regularly.

You don't need to add CO2 to any aquarium because there is plenty in the air and the water.

To see if there is enough light, turn the light on and put your hand just under the surface of the water. See if there is a good shadow of your hand on the substrate. If you get a shadow of your hand on the gravel then there is good light.
