As implied by the title, I would like to grow baby dwarf tears in my tank. Here are some useful facts...
  • I have a mildly planted 60 gal tank
  • I use flourish and flourish excel and dose it based on the on-label instructions
  • I have a Current Satellite Freshwater LED + light
  • I'm not that experienced with plants and only have basic plants in my tank
So, do you all think I should invest in some Baby Dwarf Tears based on my specs, or would it just die? Any advice for when I grow it? Thanks!

What are the dimensions of your tank?? And what are you hoping to have it look like...most people report it growing best with daily fert dosing, high light, and gas CO2.

Hi. Sorry for such a late response. My tank's ground is like 4' x 16" but I would just have it in a corner enclosed by rocks that I will sterilize.

How tall is the aquarium? I think Dwarf Baby Tears does best when under really high lighting, very close to the light. Light diminishes the further it travels through water, so I would say a nano tank would be fit to keep dwarf baby tears. But as jag said, high quality ferts and injection of CO2 will help this plant thrive, but lighting is very important when it comes to this plant. You can try it and see for yourself, it's always good to at least try.

But with high lighting, it'll begin to carpet better, which is what most people grow the plant for. Also, what kind of substrate do you have?
