I was checking out our 28 gallon tank today after doing a water change, & adding in 3 guppies that had been in the quarantine tank to make sure everyone was going well... when I noticed this dark grey fuzziness on the alligator decor (it was a gift so hush! lol) in the tank.. The gator is one of those ones where you attach it to an airpump and the bubbles come out of it's mouth opening and closing it... well the stuff was inside of the mouth. It was just a small clump of the stuff.
I got the gator out and rubbed the stuff off with my finger which totally grossed me out b/c it was VERY slimy and just did not want to come off without a fight.
What the heck was this stuff?
I know about green, brown and hair algae.. was this just some other kind?
