Hello Everyone.

I am completely new to the world of Tropical Fish, I've always thought it would be a great thing to do but have never got round to it...until now :hyper:
At the moment I only have one small tank which is currently undergoing it's cycling process but since getting it all I seem to do everyday is read, talk and think about fish! I have actually now decided to get another, bigger, tank as well so you can see the bug has certainly got me  Hopefully I will get the new tank within the next couple of weeks and then the next cycling process can begin (which, by the way, is one of the single most frustrating things ever! Having the aquarium and watching...waiting...knowing that soon fish will live in it  )

See ya round,

Oro

:hi: to the forum :)

dont forget to post pictures when your set up :)

welcome Orodreth, it is addictive, i started more than 30 years ago with a three foot tank and worked up to a 78"x24"x27" my motto is always go for the biggest you can afford and accomodate for, i have had everything from little guppies to oscars and a 26" osphronemus gourami, my gentle giant i had loads of guppies in with him and he never gave them a second glance.
mind you i'm not for cycling with amonia, i think its forcing the filter, i'm old school and beleive in the natural way, most aquatic shops sell bottles of bacteria to start a tank.
i have never tried this method so don't be offended by my opinion, i recently gave my fish to my neice as i was going through a massive modernisation of my home so my tanks are empty at the moment and i don't know if i will be setting up soon as i have no room for the big one, i might even sell it.
i will see if i can find some photo's, i cut a 7 foot hole in the wall and inserted the tank and framed it so it looked like a large moving picture, i used to get everyone from my estate walking past my home because you could see it through my front window and see right through my house.
