Looking at my tank sideways - through 4ft water, the water appears greenish.

Did a bit of a water chznge and when i poured it into the toilet it was actually grteen. Why is this? I have plants and bogwood in there. its not serious but i want to curb it now.

Gettin algae on the plants and rocks too. This is cos of lighting being doubled and also flatmate overfed fish alot a week or so ago. naturally did a water change and have cleaned filter.

Use "Green water control" and you can get something call "filter aid" Which is what i use in my 3' tank and it does the job everytime.

Green water happens when.

Your tank is to close to a window exposed to too much light.

When your light over your tank is to powerful or being left on to long.

I have 2 x 38watt tubes with reflectors in a Juewl 260 Vision tank. The water isnt green green, like all slimy, but has a very slight green tinge. I assume this is algae?
