I was at fish club the other night and was lucky enough to hear a talk about plants in aquariums. Although I know a bit about plants I did learn something new. The subject of green water came up and one of the ways to clear it up is quite interesting. Basically you put a breeding net into the tank and put some live daphnia in the breeding net. The green water flows through the net and the daphnia eat it. When the daphnia numbers build up you can scoop them out and feed them to the fish. The remaining daphnia will continue to eat the algae.

green water is ideal for fry tanks because of any insuforia that is feeding of the algae, they grow and multiply and provide food for them :)

You would still need a lot of daphnia though, so keeping them in a net is nt ideal, the green water would probably multiply quicker than they could eat it lol.
