green water

Hi im new here and new to fish keeping,and i need some advice if anyone can help id be really happy.the thing is i bought afish tank (36 ins -15ins 15ins) with the correct size filter pump(fluval) filled it with water and left it for 7 days the temperature is set at between 74 and 76,i introduced a couple of small tropicalk fish along with 2 small fan tailed goldfish,the problem is the water has turned green with the fiter running (disturbing the top to create oxygen)ther is a white froth on top of the water,i have a gro lux light system and immitation plants.can anyone please advise me what to do,i am worried the fish might die,thanks
 
hiya and welcome! justa small note, i would not keep tropical fish in with the fantail goldfish one is coldwater and one is tropical!

I would decrease the lighting and added nutrients. Keep up with water changes as well as get a ditom filter if one is available.
