I've started to notice this more and more in my Green Tiger Barbs and was wondering if it was natural.

I have a school of six (not sure about the genders) and I know that the barbs commonly fight with each other for ranking as far as who will lead the school. Lately I've noticed that scales are missing from some of the sides. All paramaters in the tank are as they are supposed to be. They swim and eat normally, just a little less scales to worry about. I think it's because of the rank fighting.

Does this sound normal?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Scale loss can be due to fighting, knocking them off on ornaments, to parasites.
Any sgins of flicking and rubbing.

32 gallons water stats are all stable 6 zebra danios, 6 australian rainbows, 4 platies, 6 green tiger barbs, 2 angel fish, 1 chinese algae eater and 2 african dwarf frogs.

they pick at each other alot in fighting. and the bigger barbs pick at the smaller ones on the sides.

Sorry the info was in your sig.
Its been really busy on here tonight and don't always get the chance to notice sigs.
Ask in tropical chat how you can cut the aggression out, don't know barbs very well, adding more might help, but not sure.
