Green Spot Algae

I have been maintaining my friends tank, its a 29g with 4 huge black widow tetras and 1 common pleco and had gotten him the pleco to get rid of the green algae when I set it up for him and now it has this green algae on the rocks but it doesn't look like the regular green algae it looks like spotted green algae there are green spots all over the rocks. Isn't the pleco suppost to eat this? If not what would get rid of it?

Thanks for the link. So there is nothing I can do? It gets no sun light since its in the basement and the lights are off almost all the time down there unless he is watching a movie or something. Could it be the tank lights and if so would shortening the time they are on help?
