As you probably all know (your probably sick of me now) Im going change and mod my Rekord 70 to a planted tank. My question now is, you know those green specs of algae on the glass that plecs/otos can't eat? Well, will CO2 of 30ppm get rid of it? It's really hard to get off and comes back even stronger and in more numbers when you aventually get some off.

Yea, that stuff is hard to get off, I can get off by using the scubber pair of my mag flout, I actually have to stick my hand in and scrub it from the inside, the green comes off, but it still leaves some tiny round marks on the inside glass, but its hardly noticable unless you go right up to the tank

Green spot algae is usually a lack of phosphate or an excess of silica in the water.

Elbow grease and a scrubber dose the trick, if not the algae magnet

A lack of phosphates? oh right. Silica, not sure if I have any of that.

Cheers.

I used to be plagued by this. Then I started EI. Problem gone. So I'm assuming the cause for me was low phosphate.

i`m having a minor issue with this too, would it be ok to dose small amounts of phosphate without co2 or a high wpg?

Yes, but go slowly because overdosing phoshate can lead to a killer algae bloom.
