green slimy/stringy algea

i had a container of water(about 2.5-3 us gal) and i finnaly got around to tossing out the water when i noticed a lot of algea. its brighty green and grows kinda stringy like but feels slimy. anyway im collecting as much as i can. iwas wondering what kinds of fish will eat it(besides algea eaters) and would it be ok if i put it in my tanks, if so will it start to grow and spread through out my tank.

i do not think u would want a giant alge growth in ur tank u best to just throw it out

eh...oh well. its just seems like a waste to throw it out though
