Hi i have noticed one of my platie has a green shine on a few scales, could it be damage from where i caught him in a net and moved him to a new tank? The fish is happy and is showing no signs of being stressed. Its a tuxedo plattie, so as you can imagine the green is quite noticeable when its ment to be black

I have no idea. My bristlenose pleco changes color according to his mood. could it be that?

I was thinking that, I just changed from a 60 to a 125 litre tank, wondered if i damaged him or he found it a bit stressful?
I cant remember seeing it like it before the tank change.

What happens with your pleco?

Lots of platies have that green iridescence on their black markings (as do a lot of other fish; tiger barbs in particular), it sounds perfectly normal. Have a look at the tiger barbs next time your in your LFS and see if it looks the same.

Thanks flutter, next time I will look at the barb. Got two females in labour but the tank is going through another cycle so they won't survive long I guess.

There's no reason why they shouldn't survive, even in a cycling tank, if you do enough (daily) water changes.
