well i got my green shrimp about 3 weeks ago and finally one of the females is carrying eggs, a couple days ago she looked like she had like 20 or more and today only about 5 left. Wondering if she ''gave birth'' already (seems a little soon) or did she lose them does that happend ? can see anything in the tank that could be babies. I watched her for a while today and it almost looks like she takes one out and cleans it and then put it back with the others, is this normal. My para are NO2=0, NO3=5, NH3=0, PH=7.5,
Does anyone have info on this
thanks

Do you know the scientific name of your green shrimps??

If they are Babaulti then the babies are very very tiny and grow slow.

Hope you find some more hidding.

The eggs may not have been fertile or sometimes first time mums drop the eggs. Its normal for them to clean the eggs and move them about. When the mum is dropping eggs they kind of kick them off. There wont have been any babies if she was only carrying the eggs for a few days it takes about three weeks depending on temperature. If all is well with the water and you have males she will soon be carrying eggs again.
