Hi,

I have (amongst other plants) Green Cabomba growing in my tank as of about 2 weeks ago in my low tech 1watt/gallon tank.

Strange thing is that there apears to be these little white spindly things growing down from them, starting from the stems and extending about 3 inches (already!) - looks like someone has draped white cotton over the stems. I'm pretty sure these were not on the plant when I planted them.

Question is, are these roots or shoots of some kind?

They look quite unsightly & i'm sure will grow into a tangled mess - should I be trimming them off?

It's weird it is!

Thanks,

Andy

Almost certainly roots, its good news shows you're doing things right :)

Hi Andy,

Yes they are adventitious roots as Cabomba can break off and re-root (in nature) and yes you are correct it can turn ito an unsightly mess!

Just pull some of the longer ones off..... ....they will grow back however! :X
