we had our pre-formed cold water pond in for about 2 weeks now and all of a sudden there was and explosion of green algea its everywhere and the water is completely green - we tried puttin in a water cleaner (made for ponds) but that did nothing

we have a fountain runnin all the time along with a waterfall

what can we do to help this??

UV in the filter. Salting the pond gets rid of some algae but depends on the plants.

UV filter will do the trick as i just recently had a pond done for couple month now as using green2clean 6000 filter and the green algea appearing on side of the pond so i would advise get blanket weed killer but be sure u get the correct one as one kind of blanket weed kills all include the plants, so there another blanket weed killer which just kills blanket weed only, my water is crystal clear no problem

hope problem will solve for u :good: good luck

Cloverleaf Blanket Answer will get rid of your blanket weed - the pond will turn milky when you first add it but will soon clear and this product definitely works. You need a UV to get rid of your green water. Make sure the water does not flow too quickly thrugh your UV so it is in contact long enough, good luck!
