I have a 55 tank that is rather new and there is some brownish algae growing. It gets sun at the end of the day.
I have a 5 gallon tank with a betta in it and it has green algae covering leaves like a blanket.
What sucker fish eat brown algae and which ones eat the green algae
Both tanks are heated, the betta's is about 76 F.

otocinclus cats (otos) will eat the brown algae, but they're hard to acclimate.

bristlenose plecos (bn plecs) will eat the green algae. males are territorial and have more bristles than females.

If it's blue-green algae, there aren't any fish or shrimp that will eat it. It's actually an organism called cyanobacteria and almost impossible to get rid of. One of the prime causes is too much light. How long are your lights on eah day? With it being a 5 gallon tank, you really don't have room to add more fish. You need to figure out what is causing the algae and fix that problem rather than buying something to eat it.

As for the tank with the brown algae, most algae eaters will eat it. It is very common in new tanks and most likely will eventually clear up on it's own. With the tank getting direct sunlight though, you will eventually have big problems with B-G algae and with green water. Direct sunlight is not good at all.
