I was at a Fish Shop not to far from me today and was looking at their tanks and found something in the tanks that I think is a fantastic idea.

They had put plastic tubes (like the ones found in hamster and gerbil cages) in the tanks and covered them in moss and foilage - I think this is a fantastic idea! The fish where swimming in and out of them happy as larry! And in one of their marine tanks there was this massive fish (don't know it's name) just sat inside one of these plastic tubes - I will for sure be using them in my next tank - I think it's a fantastic idea.

What do you think?

I think that's an idea that's around for around 15 years, but it's a good idea, altogh already invented a long time ago, but they make good hide outs.

I bought some plastic plumbing pipe from B&Q and cut these to size and glued (aquatic stuff) some pebbles all around to help it look nicer and also to help it sink, the corys and other cave dwellers love them.

Beats buying stuff from an aquatic shop and paying through the nose.

I've seen this often with PVC pipe covered in java moss or something like it, but it would be cool to use the clear hamster cage tubes because you could see through the spots with moss or whatever and see your fish go through it ^^
