Gravid Sunset Platy

I have a few questions on my sunset platy. I got two of them about 1 week ago and I think they are two females from what I have read, but one has a black dot on it and some forums say that is a sign that it is gravid. It is also larger than the other one and has been swimming normaly, but yesterday I found it just laying on the bottom quite often. Can someone tell me if it is gravid or you if you need anymore info please just ask.

is it swimming aroun troube free? when u say bigger than the other, do you mean the belly ? and is the spot near the anal fin area?


if yes, then i would say that it is probs prego. and if it is real fat, and hiding/ layin around ALOT, then it may drop soon.


if it looks like its having trouble swimming/ staying upright, it may have dropsy or something.
also, the spot if near the anal may not be a gravid spot, i have a female with a spot near anal, its not a gravid spot.

keep an eye on it. one day youll probably wake up to a slimmer platy and possibly some lil babz with a bit of luck


pick would be nice to be able to tell fo' sure, and also, every 1 loves seeing photos

I cant put pictures on sorry my camera isnt working but the black spot is close to the anal fin but a little farther back and she can swim fine and is active but sometimes is just sitting at the bottom
