Gravid Spot

hello my female guppies have always got a brown gravid spot on them but are not pregnant so what is ment when people say if there is a gravid spot it is pregnant. I hope that sounded better than it did to me. thansk

i think its more when the gravid spot gets bigger they COULD be pregnant the gravid spot is of more use when sexing young guppies b4 they have colour

all female livebearers should have a visible gravid spot, although with darker colours or white and mollies it doesn't show well, but even if not pregnant they could have one. i have 3 female guppies that are 3 months old never been near a male but have a gravid spot
