Hi

I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on cleaning gravel, I have a tank with white gravel in (yes I know bad choice) some of the gravel has become a little stained, I wondered how I could clean it? I have tried taking it out and rinsing it, but it didn't remove the stain on the gravel?

Any ideas?

Debbie

Nope didn't use boiling water, may give it a go though.

Thanks

White gravel is not good for exactly this reason. You will probably find that the staining never goes at all. It can also make fish rather skittish as it reflects a lot of light up from the bottom of the tank.

Well I agree it does reflect a lot of light up from the bottom of the tank....and have decided to change it, and go for something a little darker, I could probably get away with black gravel with it being a big tank, but am not sure.

I have taken a lot of it out today and cleaned it....(long tedious job :( ) Has been worthwhile though as it has come up very clean...!

Thanks for the input.
