Gravel

hi i bought a secondhand juwel tank complete setup running fine fish ok water ok but the gravel which came with it is multicolured will it be ok to change the gravel ?i'm thinking of the bacteria in the gravel i have a internal filter what is the best way of changing the gravel ? thanks

If the filter is cycled I think it should be ok, just take out your fish ect, put them in a spare tank or a big bucket and change it as quick as you can. I'm not an expert but I think that's what you do.

not much good bacteria lives in gravel, so changing it isnt a problem.

Wait till next water change

Put the fish in another container

Remove all decoration and plants

Siphon or remove gravel

Clean new gravel

Put in new gravel

Put decor and plants back in

Add / top off any wasted water.

Put fish in the petshop bag (always keep those)

Float in water and release them

Put old gravel in bin

Enjoy new gravel
