Gravel Washing

I am just gettin ready to start the fishless cycling off in my tank.

I have bought some gravel.... it sais it is pre washed on the bag.... however should i wash it again? If so, do i simpy wash it in normal tap water and leave it to dry? Thanks

Just rinse it in a colander and drin as much water off as you can, then add to the tank before filling with water, which should be dechlorinated. Easy peasy. I know they say it is prewashed, but i feel you need to give it an extra rinse just to be sure. GRJ

Yeh it's prob best to give another quick wash even though it does say prewashed, just to make sure you get rid of most of the dust and dirt

Thanks for the guys. Does it matter that the gravel is a little damp before i put it in the tank?

the gravel certainly doesnt need to dry, just wash it down with water, rinse off and put in tank mate
