seen one at my LFS and was wondering if they do a good job as I have not yet bought my shrimp cleaners.. also will my loach try and eat my shrimp???

Yes , they are great im my opinion , remove lots of crap from the substrate. I would reccomend you purchased one , the manual ones are only cheap.

yep an essential purchase good for removing old food and poop. just dont suck to hard when you start to syphon

I have 2 clown loaches and Some shrimp dissaperared but I have other fish that might eat them. So try it with some cheap shrimp.

Yes they are a good investiment (though I dont use one on my planted tank). They help keep the nitrate levels down and remove other biological waste materials.

With regards to the loaches and shrimp. It depends what loaches and what shrimp you are talking about. In general yes a loach WILL eat shrimp. Unless you either have sucker mouth loaches or very large shimp (over a couple of inches big).
