How do I gravel vac my planted tank I don want to raise dust or disturb the substrate so should I just hover the vac over the substrate to pick up debris?

i don't gravel vac anymore, my tank is filled with hairgrass, if i see debris i simply just use my hands to wave it off whilst changing water.
