Gravel/sand

Hi guys what would you recommend for the bottom of my tank it's 6ft long and will have tropical fish and some plants. I've only seen gravel but read some places they use sand but not sure if they were talking about marine fish tanks?

i use sand in all of my tropical tanks argos play sand is great and cheep just make sure you wash it

You can use sand in a tropical tank. Many people use play sand but it really depends on what colour you want. What is you planned stocking?

Cool is it just as easy as gravel to look after and clean

Even easier.

Wash it well before you put it in as it can be very dirty.

When doing your weekly water change, draw small circles with your symphony pipe an inch above the surface to remove waste. And stir it up every few weeks to stop the build up of gases in it.
