Hi,
More thinking lol...I have in my tank Gravel (Each piece the size of the Zero 0 on your keyboard) Now shortly changing over to real plants instead of fake plastic ones...Would very much like to add /mix some other type of gravel or something that is beneficial to plant roots etc...Will be having a Co2 System and use Flourish etc .. But think i will need something to mix with the gravel to help the plant roots ...Dont really wish to go down the route of changing this gravel out,Is there anything you think i could mix with what i already have ...to assist plant growth Regards Zac.. (Phew all this thinking to day .. need a lie down now lol.. Regards Zac

You don't need a special substrate to grow plants in, but it can help. Plenty of people on here, myself included, grow real plants in their tanks with a pure fine gravel substrate like yours. Mine are taking over my tank since I added my homebrew CO2 and are bedding into the gravel very well now.

If you want to add some special substrate anyway, there are plent of people here, especially in the planted tanks section, who will be more than qualified to advise you :)
