Gravel Or Sand

hi all, another quick question.


in your opinion which is better, gravel or sand?

i currently have mixed gravel in my tank and may be changing to a larger tank and could transfer everything straight over or place sand in it?
is one better than the other?
which looks better?
is there any benifit to the fish etc?

its just up to what u personaly like but if you want bottom dwellers then sand is better

Agree with kizno here,

all down to personal preference really. If you have bottom dwellers such as cories / plecs then they will love the sand.

Both are fairly easy to clean, although with sand you may have to clean it a bit more regularly as waste sits on the top so can look messy as it builds up.

Sand is normally cheaper if you go for argos play sand which is about £2-3 for a 15kg bag
