Hey all,

The stock i have is listed below and this is mainly in regards to my cichlids and loaches.
A few people have told me, that certain shades/colours of gravel will actually fade the colour of your fish, because the fish try to blend in with it.......so my question is what gravel shades/colours stops the fish from their colours fading?? Hope that made sense

Can't for the life of me remember what I was told :(

I choose colours that contrast with my fish, not so bright as to shock them, like no flouro greens etc.

But for my white bettas I have black gravel and for the red betta, natural coloured gravel (whitey-brown).

For your tank, a darker coloured gravel would make their colours more noticeable.

I'd use dark red or black, it will espesially bring out the colour of your yellows

Thanks all for replying. Funnily enough my yellows are nice and bright yellow, it's more my electric blues, loaches, blue acara and peacocks that are fading their colours.

Will get some dark gravel and see how it goes.

Cheers
