Gravel Cleaner?

Ive seen gravel cleaners, their very cheap. But how do they work? It says they suck up debris but its a nozzle and a tube and thats it. So how do they work?

if it is a syphon u place the nose under the grvel and suck on the tube then put the tube in a buckey for the water and derbie to come out.Or if it is a vacuum one powered by bettery it simply sucks it up and the debrary gets stuck in the bag and the water goes back in the tank.

yh let it get near the bottom and thn put in the ucket and put the nose under the gravel and move it until u see all the grap gone up the nse then you move it so on so on.I put filter wool in the end of my old one so then i dont need to renew the water if i have resently renewed it.

you really shouldnt suck the end of the tube to get the water to come out of a syphon. you could get a mouth full of fish water in your mouth, what if your fish have parasites or TB or something??

all you have to do is move the syphon up and down until the water starts coming out.

if you move the syphon up and down a lot and the water still doesnt come out then either the tube is too short or the bucket is not low enough, as the syphon works by gravity. the bucket has to be much lower than the tank you are syphoning.

there is really no need to suck on anything.

another way to do it is to put ur thumb on the end of the tube but water in the part that you put near the gravel and fill the tube up with water and when its touching ur thumb you make sure the tube and the other part is full of water then stick it in the water real quick so very little water falls out and then release your thumb over a bucket of water and you have a nice vacum
