Gravel question near the bottom.

I was thinking just regular glass cleaner? Like Windex? If I do use windex I would spray it on the paper towel first. Would this have any adverse affect of the silicone holding the pieces of glass together?

I've seen silicon used on house windows. Windex has never hurt the silicon keeping my windows on. So by that logic, I would think it is ok.

Whoops just decided to add onto this thread. What kind of gravel/sand combonation should I use in my tanks? Like what kind of mixture should I use?

i use vinigar on my windows just incase. I dont think i would like windex vapors in my tanks.

i agree with phlawed!!! - i use the smallest amount of wash liquid in a bowl with lots and lots of water - using a wrung out cloth (hardly wet) wip all glass and take off the excess with kitchen towel - amazingly good fingerprint remover!!!!!

dont think i would use a named product - depends on the fumes, residue etc!!! - i'm just erring on side of caution!!!!

Yeah, I just use a damp kitchen type towel, like mentioned above...you can try WINDEX but be careful, it doest contain AMMONIA doesnt it

viniger works great on water deposits from hard water and spotting. I use it for my hood that gets caked in calcium deposits and cleans it great and fast.
