Grass?

Today i was in the garden and my neighbour was digging up some grass with the roots. I asked what he was going to do with it and he said hes going to put it in his fish tank. I told him not to because it would just die and rot in the water. He said he always does it and its OK. Who is right?

well I went round to see his tank today and im sure hes gone crazy. He has grass on the bottom and like panzy type plants about. Then hes got pond and duck weed. But it looks really nice. How come the outside plants arnt dying? He says hes had them in there a few weeks.

Grass can live for a while in flooded fields, but it will eventually die.

There are several aquatic grass like plants he could use.

Yeah thats what i said and also said bog wood and he said No he will just get some from his garden, I just said OK then. He gets everything from his back garden, rocks, wood plants. O well its his tank, he can do what he likes i guess
