I've had a few...Here was my previous social hierarchy (sp)
#1 Male flame...bugged all the other male gouramis
#2 my 2 neon males were o.k with eachother but got picked on by the flame
#3 Sunset male...everybody loves him

but he doesn't like one of the female dwarf honeys
#4 Snakeskin....gets along with everybody but the one female the sunset didn't like....
The most aggression I have EVER seen by my gouramis was actually between the two female honeys. One picked on the other...wouldn't let her eat, and when ever she would come out of hiding would get chased back in, and eventually it lead to death!
I actually found out afterwards that the males are more aggressive towards eachother in a fish book I read. I believe otherwise.
So I figure, if you want two males...as long as there isn't a huge size gap...go for it
And if you want a male and a female...that's even better
