Hi i have a 180l tank with the following fish, and would like to know what gouramis will do fine or any other big fish as all my fish so far are small

7 neon tetras
5 black neon tetras
3 guppies 1M/2F
2 platies
2 gold algae eater loaches

I have heard a bit about honey gouramis, how are these best kept pair trio.

The tank has live rock and plants

Thankyou

I have two Pearl Gouramis (one male, one female) that get on well with my Serpae Tetras and Guppies (well, generally they all ignore each other, but that's better than them fighting I suppose ;) )

2 or 3 gouramis would be fine - maybe try mixing 'em up from the Trichogaster family. I did just that in my old community tank by housing a gold gourami with a blue 3 spot gourami and a pearl gourami and they did just fine together. Moonlight and honey gouramis belong to the same genus too.
I've heard the odd individual can be a bit aggressive but overall they enjoy each others company. Go for it and best of luck with your new additions.

Thanks for the swift replies, would a pearl gourami be okay withe a opaline gourami with my fish??

Yes, I'm sure the opaline gourami is just a variation of the blue gourami so should work out fine with a pearl gourami, same genus.

Pearl gourami are very peaceful and docile. I find that the best gourami to put them with is Honey gourami. I male per 3 females is a very good mix. For pearls, 1 male and 1 female is good.
