Can a gourami go in a community tank?

What type of Gourami, what tank size and what other tankmates?

the tank mates are on my signature it is a male dwarf gourami in a 36g tank.

Is it only 1 gourami you want to add? If so, sounds ok to me.

Dwarf, and pearl gouramis do fine in community tanks. They are moderately aggressive by nature, but that varies from fish to fish. Your most common community stock should do fine with them.

Just make sure your whale shark doesn't gobble 'em up.

I would say all Gouramis except a kissing gourami. I have owned Giant gouramis, Peral Gouramis and now 3 Spotted gold Gouramis and all do great in comunity tank.
