Gourami's Do They Need Female Company

Hi I have 5 Gourami's in a tank full of community fish, they seem fine health wise and all levels indicate this, I am fairly new to this hobby and have only had my tank 6months but fingers crossed all is well.

My questoin is should I get some female of the species as the males seem to chase each other about in fits and starts to decide who is boss, or by bringing in the females would this cause more of a problem.

What type of Gouramis as I think dwarfs are more peaceful that others. But from what i know males are likely to battle alot and to bring peace I'd get rid of 4 males and bring in maybe 3 or 4 females preferably at the same time so no one gets too picked on.

I would follow Babybelle's advice; the tank is not really big enough to provide 5 gourami territories and as you may have guessed gouramis are highly territorial. If you cannot get hold of females, I would just keep a single male- he'll be fine on his own.
