gourami with what i thought was an ulcer?

Hi, My male gourami has had like a little cut on his face for around 6 days now and i've been adding Melafix which hasn't really done anything. I'm not sure if its an ulcer because i've never came accross them before.

I've just found that i still have anti-internal bacteria med so was thinking would it be better to use that as it says its for ulcers etc? Will this med effect my clown plec, syno and corys? also is it ok to use the same day as melafix?

hmmmm now i'm not sure what it could be if its not an ulcer. It's like a small cut but is raised from the skin.

is it anything like this, my gourami started out with something like your describing, it looked like a little red cut and then gradually got bigger, its not red anymore though just a lump

duh just realised what i said, i didnt mean to say does it look like this because obviously it doesnt, but if it does turn into anything like this, thats some info for you, i tried treating mine with melafix as well and it didnt work so i stoped!

It look's raised out abit dosn't iit, can you issolate the fish, so you can medicate with an internal bacteria med, also is he still eating.

yeah well i didn't notice if he was eating today but he seems ok so far, I don't have anywhere else to move him to so i can treat him. I have an anti-internal bacteria med though.

Wanted to no if he was still eating, as if he wasn't it's a sign that he's not well, you will have to medicate the whole tank then, good luck.

Well it's not great that you have to medicate the whole tank, but they should be fine, interpet is not to strong anyway as it dosn't wipe your bacteria colony out.

did you not read what i said or look at the link....and its in exactly the same place, meds didnt help at all, ive tried and if you read what people said in my thread they ended up dying anyways so i wouldnt be suprised if it doesnt work, but if it does get better good luck and i hope it doesnt come back! because mine looked like it had gone for a while but now its back and getting bigger!
