55 gallon with Nitrite 0, Nitrate 40, pH 6.0, hard water, temp 74º. Tank mates are listed in my sig. I just noticed today that both the males have this weird dark look to the front lower area. One is darker than the other. I just lost two males a week ago to the strange bacterial malady that so often strikes these beautiful fish, not knowing what it was at the time but now knowing a lot after reading many, many posts.
Their behavior doesn't seem different at all. Still eating and doing what they normally do. But this 5 o'clock shadow has me worried. Should I be? Should I quarantine them? Please help!
