Well ever since I got my gourami about 4 weeks ago, I noticed that he had been acting aggressive towards the smaller one in the tank. His behavior has settled down but he has numerous scars and lesions on his skin that do not seem to be healing. I am mostly concerned with the scar that was on his fin. It keeps getting bigger and he now has a hole in his anal fin because of it. What could this be caused by and what medication do you think is best to use?

I'd get some melafix :good: . My favourite med, I used it when my syno used to get lots of heater burns, whenever a fish gets a torn fin and as a preventative measure when I get new fish :good: .
Melafix.

If he has an hole in the anal fin will need more than melafix, you will need a bacterial med.

Thanks for the replies! I went to the store last night and got some melafix...let's see if that solves anything. How long should I give it to him for? The box says that for injuries it should be dosed once a day for a week.

That fine, if no improvement need a bacterial med.
Seven days with melafix.
