Hello,
Based on what Sylvia said about the nutritious value of freeze dried food being equal to cardboard, I shopped around a bit here to find alternatives for these, and the constipation causing flakes.
I found algae pellets for plectos, and spirulina flakes. According to the shop owner, the spirulina flakes have the same ingredients as the algae pellets, and these would be much easier to eat for my fish than the bigh pellets.
The flakes (Wardley brand, most be known to North Americans, I guess) are fish based: shrimp, and fish ingredients according to the ingredients list.
So, if I would combine the spirulina flakes, with fish based flakes, slow sinking pellet food, and some vegetables now and then, would that be ok? Does that sound like a diet that they would thrive on?
Thanks beforehand!
