Gourami Compatibility

Hi guys

I currently have a pair of pearl gourami (male/female), a flame red dwarf gourami with 2 females, and a lone kissing gourami. All of these are extremely peaceful together. Occasionally the dwarf male does a little chase at one of the others, but this is probably protecting his bubble nest which he keeps building. I really like the personality of the gourami but would like to add some colour. I like the interest in gourami as they occupy all layers of the tank (mine seem to at least) so would like some more if possible. I know the other 'full size' gourami other than pearl can be a little aggressive, so I am aiming for some of the smaller species. I assume that a powder blue or normal dwarf will be too similar and aggression may occur.

Any ideas of a few gourami I could add? I know you see honey etc about which are neither dwarf nor any of the larger breeds. Will they be compatible, and what ratio would be best?

Supposedly you can keep Honeys with Pearls but I never had them in the same tank so I can't recommend from personal experience. Not too sure about Honey's with Dwarf varieties. The Powder Blues are just a color variant of the Flame & striped versions, I wouldn't add any more males unless your tank is huge.
