I have a 125G tank with 11 angels (all but 2 are small juvi waiting to be sold), 6 honey gouramis, 2 dwarf gouramis, 4 pearl gouramis, 3 GBRs and 3 dojo loaches. I've really started taking a liking to the bigger gouarmis (pearls, really), but I wanted to see if a gold gourami would fit in?

I know they are semi-aggressive, but then so are angels. Semi-aggressive seems to be a really broad label.

You are wanting to add gold gouramis with angels and the others? Hmm, I have 2 5-inch gold gouramis and 2 7-inch angelfish and they get along fine. When I transferred them to a 55 gallon tank, my gouramis became really skittish. They follow my angels to seek comfort from my "scaryness." Mine are 2 males and they like to fight each other when they think I'm not watching. But I'm not sure how they'll get along with the other gouramis.

Gold gouramis and angels should be ok,, though watch that if your getting more then one,, not always but fairly often if theyre both males one will dominate the other.. I had this problem with opaline gouramis and one ended up dying sadly.

Trichogaster trichopterus are often considered to be one of, if not the most aggressive of the smaller gourami species.....
