Im new here, so hello *waves* but I will do my into later as I have some questions regarding my two dwarf gourami.
(Sorry if this topic is out there somewhere, I did a search and found a lot of good info but have a few more questions)
So I thought the petstore gave me two of the same gender..haha. Ive had them for four months I think. They live in a planted 10 gallon with 4 small danios and an chinese algae eater. The tank is filtered of course, has substrate of gravel and long frondy plants. Tank temp is around 79-80. No idea what the other measurements are.
I woke up this morning to a bubble nest (im pretty familiar with the bubble nests as I have male betta as well) but Ive got one of them sort of guarding the bubbles (Im assuming its the male) and the other making kissy faces at me next to the glass (assuming that is the female). I broke out my magnifying glass to take a better look at the nest and Im not really sure if they are fertilized or not, they are clear with what looks like a white center..but I wasnt sure if that was a glare from my lamp or not. *shrugs* Im assuming since hes trying to guard the nest from me, hes not really concerned with the danios as usual, they are fertilized? There are about 100 of them or so, some are scattered around that area of the tank in the plants, but hes guarding the larger nest of them.
Is there a way to get the eggs out? or should I wait for them to 'hatch" and try and catch as many fry as I can? Should I be making a mad dash to the petstore for live feed?
What kind of filter should I use in the fry tank, should the eggs become that? Would an airstone work? or do I need a filter?
Ive got a spare 5 gallon and some kritter keepers that I could set up for now.
Thank for all your help in advance!
